Work involves operation of computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment. The position requires a thorough knowledge of student accounting procedures and regulations, and the ability to accurately enter data from source documents. In addition, the employee should have the capacity to effectively generate, analyze and report data, and have sound operational knowledge of the overall functionality of PowerSchool. The employee works under general supervision where goals are provided and the employee, within established guidelines and procedures, accomplishes them. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of groups including students, teachers, principals, counselors, central office staff, parents, and local governmental agencies is required.</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Serves as the PowerSchool system expert for the assigned school by entering,&nbsp; &nbsp;summarizing, analyzing, and reviewing data for accuracy to produce standard, custom and&nbsp; &nbsp;confidential reports for the assigned school principal and LEA administrators.&nbsp; Also,&nbsp; &nbsp;reconciliation of local agency, state and federal reports</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Administers PowerSchool User Security for assigned school, coordinating with district&nbsp; &nbsp;personnel</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Manages student information, attendance reporting, grade reporting, registration and&nbsp; &nbsp;scheduling, discipline reporting, etc.&nbsp; Also, manages data as mandated by the state or&nbsp; &nbsp;school district</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Maintains records of student withdrawal from school, record of reasons for student&nbsp; &nbsp;withdrawal and students planned destination. Prepares periodic statistical&nbsp; &nbsp;enrollment/withdrawal reports</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Facilitates transfer of student information between schools, including records requests</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Accesses the Internet to review and/or download student information-related materials</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Provides information and/or training to co-workers and school staff on the use of</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp; PowerSchool and application of data produced from the system</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Coordinates and oversees distribution of Parent Portal login information and responsible for&nbsp; &nbsp;quality assurance of parent User IDs and passwords</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Works with a variety of departments to accurately input, maintain, reconcile and report&nbsp; &nbsp;data to&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">school system business owners</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Assures coordination of both verbal and written information to district employees&nbsp;</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Perform other related work as required; in addition, to completing special projects as assigned</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-General knowledge of computers, computer commands, peripherals, and various operating&nbsp; &nbsp; systems</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Knowledge of attendance regulations and student accounting procedures, as outlined in the&nbsp; &nbsp;N.C.</span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School Attendance and Student Accounting Manual</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Sound knowledge of district enrollment practices and procedures</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Considerable knowledge of data management, policies and procedures</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Considerable knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheets, and databases</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Ability to apply independent judgment in correcting data errors or omissions</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality regarding student information in&nbsp; &nbsp;accordance&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with federal privacy laws, and any additional standards required by the state or&nbsp; &nbsp;local school district</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Ability to communicate well with school personnel, parents, students, central office staff&nbsp; &nbsp;and&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">outside entities, including local judicial or governmental agencies</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All candidates for this position must have a minimum of each of the following requirements:</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-High School Graduate</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Two years of experience as a PowerSchool Data Manager preferred or other relative work&nbsp; &nbsp;experience directly related to a computer system which requires knowledge of entering,&nbsp; &nbsp;editing, and finalizing source data</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, scanners, computer software, etc.; ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and give oral and written instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>DISCLAIMER</strong></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
