Support technology use by providing training on hardware and software as required.\r\n\r\nQualifications:\r\nEducation/Certification:\r\nMinimum - High school diploma or GED\r\nPreferred – Associate or higher degree or equivalent work experience in related field.\r\n\r\nSpecial Knowledge/Skills:\r\nBroad Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications.\r\nKnowledge of various operating systems.\r\nKnowledge of software used in education industry, word processing, spreadsheet, database, etc.\r\nKnowledge of computer workstation setup and installation.\r\nAbility to detect and resolve technical or technology related problems.\r\nAbility to provide one or one, or group training to support technology users.\r\nExcellent organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills.\r\n\r\nExperience:\r\nOne year work experience installing, maintaining, repairing and supporting computer hardware,\r\nsoftware and peripherals\r\n\r\nMajor Responsibilities and Duties:\r\nTechnical Support\r\n1. Process and prioritize technology related work orders.\r\n2. Evaluate costs and make recommendations on technology related repairs.\r\n3. Arrange for contract repairs for work that cannot be performed by district staff.\r\n4. Work cooperatively with end-users to detect and resolve hardware / software issues.\r\n5. Communicate with software and hardware vendors to resolve end-user problems.\r\n6. Communicate with Network Administrator to detect and resolve end-user problems with internally\r\ndeveloped applications and database management.\r\n\r\nInstallation\r\n7. Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.\r\n8. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.\r\n9. Install and configure software as needed.\r\n10. Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of network equipment.\r\n\r\nEquipment Repair and Maintenance\r\n11. Diagnose and repair equipment, including computers and peripherals.\r\n12. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including computers and peripherals.\r\n13. Maintain accurate updated records of work performed, materials used and time required to perform\r\nrepairs and maintenance.\r\n\r\nSafety\r\n14. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.\r\n15. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing\r\nand carrying.\r\n16. Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the\r\nsupervisor immediately.\r\n\r\nOther\r\n17. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.\r\n18. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local\r\nboard policy.\r\n19. Other duties as assigned.\r\n\r\nEquipment Used:\r\nHand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations. Personal computers and\r\nperipherals.\r\n\r\nWorking Conditions:\r\nMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:\r\nClimbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test\r\nequipment; frequent districtwide travel. Prolonged use of computer and telephone, repetitive hand\r\nmotions. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
