This includes developing, configuring, maintaining,<br />supporting and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links.<br />This position will also ensure the stability and integrity of voice, data, video, security and wireless<br />network services.</p>\r\n<p><br />This job reports to the Network Administrator.</p>\r\n<p><br /><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Attends meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information</li>\r\n<li>required to perform functions.</li>\r\n<li>Receives, prioritizes, and responds to incoming work orders, telephone calls, and/or emails</li>\r\n<li>regarding equipment and/or connectivity problems.</li>\r\n<li>Defines and controls access privileges, roles, and group membership of the user community for the purpose of controlling and monitoring security of district information systems.</li>\r\n<li>Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for</li>\r\n<li>network administration, usage, cyber security incident response, and disaster recovery.</li>\r\n<li>Conducts testing and development of cyber security incident response plans and disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to network functionality.</li>\r\n<li>Provides escalation support to other department staff in relation to complicated desktop, network, telephony, or software application issues, for the purpose of providing efficient problem resolution.</li>\r\n<li>Provides support of network systems and infrastructure, (e.g. cabling, electronics/hardware, backup/restore functionality, software applications, and resolutions of network operational issues) for the purpose of maximizing availability of network systems.</li>\r\n<li>Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, network operational processes, and service records.</li>\r\n<li>Monitors network performance and troubleshoots problem areas as needed to identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks.</li>\r\n<li>Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, printing and</li>\r\n<li>copy machines, and other network appliances.</li>\r\n<li>Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommends and implements corrective solutions.</li>\r\n<li>Manages planning and maintenance of network cabling, including MDF and IDF closets. Participates in managing all network security solutions.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>Other Functions:</strong></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work.</p>\r\n<p>Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:&nbsp; Skills, Knowledge and Abilities</strong></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills<br />in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the<br />functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; planning and managing<br />projects; operating standard office equipment; and utilizing pertinent software applications.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; review and interpret highly<br />technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired<br />actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge<br />required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes:<br />Proven experience and success with enterprise-level LAN, WAN, and WLAN engineering,<br />design, and implementation.<br />Proven ability to engineer routers, switches, and access points.<br />Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and<br />general network management best practices.<br />Excellent technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet<br />standards.<br />Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools.<br />Working technical knowledge of VoIP telephony.<br />Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.</p>\r\n<p>Knowledge, understanding and ability to create and maintain thorough technical<br />documentation</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; routinely gather,<br />collate, and/or classify data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is<br />required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but<br />different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of processes. Ability is also required<br />to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of<br />types of job-related equipment. In working with others, problem solving is required to identify<br />issues and create action plans. Utilization of<br />resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>Working Environment:</strong><br />The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical<br />demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some<br />stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job<br />requires 25% sitting, 25% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature<br />variations and a generally hazard free environment.
