TITLE: Technology Technician I

QUALIFICATIONS:
\r\nAssociate degree in Computer Science and one year experience repairing and maintaining technology related equipment, an equivalent combination of training and experience, or enrollment in a full-time technology based college program (minimum of 6 credit hours per semester or making reasonable progress toward degree). Ability to systematically troubleshoot technology devices. Ability to communicate effectively with users. Strong knowledge of computers and related technologies. General knowledge of components of local area networks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\r\nRepairs, maintains, and upgrades technology-related equipment.
\r\nReads and interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
\r\nOperates standard and specialized electronics devices in testing and troubleshooting computers and other technology-related equipment.
\r\nMaintains an inventory of electronics components needed to make timely repairs.
\r\nUses a work-order tracking system for routine repair and maintenance of equipment. Refers complex problems to higher-level technical support.
\r\nPossesses an understanding of mechanical, electronic, and computer principles as applied to the repair and maintenance of computers and peripherals.
\r\nServes as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness.
\r\nPerforms other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
\r\nMust be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
\r\n\r\n
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
\r\n\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
\r\n
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
