Certifications with&nbsp;Cisco, PowerSchool,&nbsp;Microsoft applications, Network+, or A+, and any other technical certifications are a plus, but not<br />required.&nbsp;Experience with WAN/LAN, wired and wireless technologies is needed.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>Leadership and Strategic Planning</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Provides leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive division-wide technology plan aligned with instructional goals, operational priorities, and Virginia Department of Education initiatives.</li>\r\n<li>Leads long-range planning for infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity readiness, instructional technology integration, and digital transformation initiatives.</li>\r\n<li>Advises division leadership on emerging technologies, best practices, risk management, and technology-related policies and procedures.</li>\r\n<li>Develops, implements, and evaluates technology standards, procedures, and operational protocols.</li>\r\n<li>Collaborates with instructional leaders to support innovative teaching, learning, assessment, and student engagement through technology integration.</li>\r\n<li>Promotes equitable access to technology resources and digital learning opportunities for all students and staff.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinates disaster recovery planning, business continuity procedures, and emergency technology response efforts.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Infrastructure, Network, and Systems Administration</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Oversees the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the division&rsquo;s network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, internet connectivity, switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, cloud services, and telecommunications systems.</li>\r\n<li>Directs the management and support of servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, backup systems, and enterprise-level infrastructure.</li>\r\n<li>Oversees the deployment, maintenance, lifecycle management, and inventory control of student and staff devices, peripherals, and classroom technology.</li>\r\n<li>Ensures reliability, scalability, and performance of all technology systems and services.</li>\r\n<li>Oversees Voice over IP (VoIP) systems, telecommunications infrastructure, emergency communication systems, and related technologies.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinates vendor services, maintenance agreements, warranties, and contracted technology support.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>Cybersecurity and Data Privacy</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Leads the division&rsquo;s cybersecurity efforts, including risk assessment, threat mitigation, endpoint protection, network security, access control, and incident response planning.</li>\r\n<li>Develops and enforces technology security procedures and data governance practices consistent with FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, HIPAA (where applicable), and Virginia state requirements.</li>\r\n<li>Oversees cybersecurity awareness and digital safety training for employees and students.</li>\r\n<li>Monitors compliance with data privacy agreements and security standards for instructional and operational software systems.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinates responses to cybersecurity incidents, technology outages, and data breaches as necessary.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br />Instructional Technology and Student Information Systems</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Supports the effective integration of instructional technologies, digital resources, online learning platforms, and assessment systems across the division.</li>\r\n<li>Oversees administration and support for student information systems, learning management systems, assessment platforms, special education software, finance systems, human resources systems, and other enterprise applications.</li>\r\n<li>Collaborates with instructional staff to support online testing, digital assessment initiatives, and technology-enhanced instruction.</li>\r\n<li>Provides leadership for instructional technology initiatives that support student achievement, accessibility, personalization, and blended learning environments.</li>\r\n<li>Ensures accessibility and assistive technology supports are available in accordance with student and staff needs and applicable laws.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Data Management and Reporting</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Oversees data integration, reporting systems, database management, and information accuracy across division platforms.</li>\r\n<li>Supports state and federal reporting requirements through accurate collection, analysis, and submission of technology-related and student data.</li>\r\n<li>Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and data tools to support operational and instructional decision-making.</li>\r\n<li>Collaborates with division departments to improve data quality, efficiency, and interoperability between systems.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"><br /></span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Budgeting, Procurement, and Compliance</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Develops and manages the annual technology budget in alignment with division priorities and strategic goals.</li>\r\n<li>Oversees procurement of technology equipment, software, licensing, and contracted services in accordance with local, state, and federal purchasing regulations.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinates E-Rate applications, technology grants, and other funding opportunities.</li>\r\n<li>Maintains accurate technology inventory and asset management systems.</li>\r\n<li>Evaluates technology purchases and services for effectiveness, scalability, sustainability, and instructional value.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Personnel Management and Professional Development</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Supervises and evaluates technology department personnel, including network administrators, technicians, instructional technology staff, and other assigned employees.</li>\r\n<li>Establishes performance expectations and provides coaching, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities for staff.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinates technology training and professional development for employees across the division.</li>\r\n<li>Supports administrators, teachers, and staff in the effective use of technology systems and digital tools.</li>\r\n<li>Fosters a collaborative, customer-service-oriented technology department culture.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Extensive knowledge of K&ndash;12 technology infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise systems.</li>\r\n<li>Knowledge of instructional technology practices, online learning environments, student information systems, and digital assessment platforms.</li>\r\n<li>Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws related to student data privacy, accessibility, and technology compliance.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to lead large-scale technology initiatives and manage multiple priorities effectively.</li>\r\n<li>Strong analytical, organizational, budgeting, and project management skills.</li>\r\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication 10pt;\">EXPERIENCE:</span></strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, Information Systems, or a related field required.</li>\r\n<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Educational Leadership, Information Technology,</li>\r\n<li>Cybersecurity, or related field preferred.</li>\r\n<li>Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in technology systems management, network administration, or educational technology leadership preferred.</li>\r\n<li>Experience in K&ndash;12 education technology environments preferred.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><strong>CONTRACT PERIOD:</strong> 12
