The Districtwide<br />Cybersecurity Specialist will monitor, analyze, and mitigate security threats, maintain<br />cybersecurity tools, and promote districtwide security awareness.<br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Maintain, configure, and monitor districtwide security systems, including EDR/MDR solutions, endpoint protection, anti-virus, email filters, and content filtering solutions.</li>\r\n<li>Monitor network and server activity to detect, analyze, and respond to potential security breaches or vulnerabilities.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinate and oversee server patch management schedules and vulnerability remediation across district systems in collaboration with the systems team.</li>\r\n<li>Manage daily log analysis, EDR/MDR alerts, and incident response procedures; maintain and update the district&rsquo;s Incident Response Plan (IRP), notifying supervisors of critical issues and implementing solutions.</li>\r\n<li>Collaborate with network and systems staff to ensure secure configurations for LAN/WAN infrastructure, servers, and cloud applications like Google Workspace for Education.</li>\r\n<li>Define, write, and enforce identity and access management policies; assist in managing user access controls, multi-factor authentication, and identity management across district software, including student management systems.</li>\r\n<li>Educate and train district staff, students, and stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices, including designing and executing simulated phishing campaigns and data privacy awareness.</li>\r\n<li>Evaluate, onboard, and manage cybersecurity vendors and third-party service providers to ensure compliance with district security standards and service level agreements.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding security incidents, policies, and disaster recovery procedures.</li>\r\n<li>Track industry trends and monitor cybersecurity threat intelligence to ensure district systems remain defended against emerging threats.</li>\r\n<li>Embrace the process of constant learning and self-improvement through advanced security training and certifications.</li>\r\n<li>Perform other security-related duties as assigned.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Ability to work with all levels of staff, students, parents, and vendors in a professional manner.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to communicate complex technical security concepts effectively to non-technical employees.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to analyze, isolate, and resolve difficult technical security problems under pressure.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize high-impact security incidents, and work efficiently in a stressful environment.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to show initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach during equipment inspection and installation.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>BASIC REQUIREMENTS</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Associate degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent background and work experience will be considered.</li>\r\n<li>Two or more years of experience in information technology with a focus on network security, systems administration, or incident response.</li>\r\n<li>Active security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC) are highly preferred; current networking certifications (Network+ or CCNA) may be considered.</li>\r\n<li>Technical knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and wireless network security.</li>\r\n<li>Familiarity with student data privacy standards, Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs), and cloud security compliance (Google Workspace for Education);
