{"success":true,"message":"","validationErrors":[],"value":{"jobInfo":{"jobId":5834697,"jobTitle":"District Technology Technician","infoURL":"https://eastmuskingum.tedk12.com/hire/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=2352","externalJobCode":"2352","applicationDeadline":"2026-07-27T04:59:00","displayDate":"2026-07-15T05:00:00","internalDisplayDate":"2026-07-15T05:00:00","postDate":"2026-07-15T15:39:08","startDateShowDay":1,"startDate":null,"jobStatusID":40,"unionID":0,"unionName":null,"jobDescription":"<p><strong>EAST MUSKINGUM SCHOOLS</strong></p>\r\n<h1>Job Description</h1>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>JOB TITLE: </strong>District Technology Technician</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>BOARD APPROVAL DATE:&nbsp; </strong>July 10, 2025</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>REPORTS TO: </strong>Technology Coordinator/Technology Operations Manager</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>CONTRACT: </strong>260 days per year, 8 AM to 4:30 PM with &frac12; hour unpaid lunch.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>SUMMARY:</strong>&nbsp; To assist the technology operations manager in maintaining the district network and related equipment in a condition of operating excellence that enhances the educational and operational facets of the district at all times.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> include the following.&nbsp; Other duties may be assigned.</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Must be self-motivated, be able to prioritize tasks, and work independently.</li>\r\n<li>Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.</li>\r\n<li>Serves as a positive role model for students.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters.</li>\r\n<li>Updates and maintains accurate inventory and service records in accordance with district policies.</li>\r\n<li>Image, install, configure, and troubleshoot computers, Chromebooks, software, and peripherals.&nbsp; Works with maintenance staff on construction installation projects.</li>\r\n<li>Installs network wiring and connections (e.g., servers, hubs, routers, etc.).</li>\r\n<li>Performs preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment.&nbsp; Repairs equipment, maintains repair records, and submits warranty claims.</li>\r\n<li>Keeps the technology operations manager informed about work progress.&nbsp; Avoids disrupting building activities except during emergencies.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinates scheduled repairs by outside vendors with supervisor.&nbsp; Ensures that equipment is safe to use and available when needed.</li>\r\n<li>Requests permission and follows board-approved procedures for the disposal of fixed assets.</li>\r\n<li>Manages the district&rsquo;s help desk.</li>\r\n<li>Prepares training materials and instruction sheets. Plans and present in-service programs and professional development for other staff members.</li>\r\n<li>Establishes and manages user accounts.&nbsp; Disables accounts and associated files at the end of the school year.</li>\r\n<li>Collaborates with teachers to explore adaptations that will enhance classroom activities.</li>\r\n<li>Sets up and operates equipment for special occasions.</li>\r\n<li>Evaluates new equipment and provides cost-factor information for computer repair.</li>\r\n<li>Develops and maintains the district&rsquo;s web site.&nbsp; Works with the technology committee to update the district&rsquo;s technology plan.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Stay knowledgeable of new computer hardware, software, and research through contacts with publishers, representatives, professional organizations, reading of publications, and attending professional meetings.</li>\r\n<li>Performs other duties consistent with professional competence as assigned.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>USER-DEFINED:</strong></p>\r\n<p>The employee must have basic knowledge of board policies and procedures.</p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:</strong> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.&nbsp; The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.&nbsp; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND /OR EXPEREINCE:</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li>\r\n<li>Associates&rsquo; Degree or 2 years of experience in a related position preferred.</li>\r\n<li>Successful experience with a computer service center, plus an ability to meet and work well with people.</li>\r\n<li>Experience in:</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>-Instructional media and technology programs.</p>\r\n<p>-Network design, maintenance and management</p>\r\n<p>-Computer and Chromebook repair.</p>\r\n<p>-Knowledge of various Microsoft programs and Google Workspace.</p>\r\n<p>-System troubleshooting and design.</p>\r\n<p>-Experience with Server 2022, Windows 11, Chrome OS.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</strong></p>\r\n<p>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.&nbsp; Ability to write simple correspondence.&nbsp; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</strong></p>\r\n<p>Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10&rsquo;s and 100&rsquo;s.&nbsp; Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.</p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:</strong></p>\r\n<p>The employee will have an operational knowledge of either Chrome or Windows based computers and related technology.&nbsp; The employee will take advantage of all district level technology training that is appropriate to their job assignment.&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>REASONING ABILITY:</strong></p>\r\n<p>Able to follow clear written or spoken instructions, even if they aren&rsquo;t highly detailed or complex.
