TITLE:  DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY

DEPARTMENT:  Technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

\r\n
    \r\n
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. \r\n
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in technology administration preferably in public education.
    3. \r\n
  3. Extensive knowledge of enterprise networks, servers, cybersecurity, cloud systems, instructional technology, and information systems.
    4. \r\n
  4. Demonstrated experience leading technology initiatives, strategic planning, budgeting, and project management.
    5. \r\n
  5. Experience supervising technology personnel and managing vendor relationships.
    6. \r\n
  6. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    7. \r\n
  7. Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain within 45 days).
    8. \r\n
  8. Valid Arizona Driver License.
    9. \r\n
  9. Industry certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Google, VMware, etc.) preferred.
    10. \r\n

JOB GOAL: 

\r\n

Provide strategic leadership for all district technology systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, instructional technology, innovation, and technical support. Ensure reliable, secure, and innovative technology services that enhance teaching, learning, and district operations while aligning with the District Strategic Plan. 

\r\n

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

\r\n

The following tasks are essential for this position.  This list is not inclusive of all responsibilities.  Specific job related responsibilities will be assigned by the immediate Supervisor.

  1. Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and all applicable laws, policies, and technology standards.
    2. \r\n
  2. Lead the planning, implementation, maintenance, and security of all district technology infrastructure and information systems.
    3. \r\n
  3. Develop and implement the District Technology Plan in alignment with district goals.
    4. \r\n
  4. Promote innovative instructional technology that supports student achievement and staff effectiveness.
    5. \r\n
  5. Oversee technology purchasing, budgeting, E-rate, contracts, licensing, and vendor partnerships.
    6. \r\n
  6. Supervise, evaluate, and develop technology department staff.
    7. \r\n
  7. Establish and monitor department goals, performance measures, and customer service standards.
    8. \r\n
  8. Support data systems, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.
    9. \r\n
  9. Collaborate with district leadership to improve operational efficiency through technology.
    10. \r\n
  10. Develop and enforce technology-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
    11. \r\n
  11. Provide leadership in emerging technologies, digital learning, and continuous improvement.
    12. \r\n
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent in accordance with the provision of Governing Board policy for evaluation of administrative personnel

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months

\r\n

 

\r\n

SALARY: Salary for the position is set according to the Administrative Salary Schedule determined by the Governing Board

\r\n

 

\r\n

FLSA STATUS: Exempt
