This person will supervise the Learning Technology team and will serve on the leadership team for the Department of Technology. Using the ACPS Framework for Quality Learning aligned with the VDOE&rsquo;s Digital Learning Integration Standards, the Assistant Director supports both student learning and the district&rsquo;s strategic goals. This support will be characterized by creating open learning environments designed around Division beliefs in Equity, Access, and Universal Design for Learning. This Assistant Director will work with the Deputy Chief Technology Officer, and the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, among others. font-size: small;\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Leads the Learning Technology Team (the Learning Technology Integrators and the Manager for Digital Equity) and through this team helps to set Division priorities for classroom technology, digital learning, and future technology initiatives;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Provides leadership for classroom computer and 1:1 (one-to-one) initiatives;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Provides leadership for technology outreach projects, including internet connectivity for all students;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Leads the resource vetting process and the development of digital curriculum;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Responsible for the development and implementation of the Division&#39;s Internet Safety Program as mandated by the federal government, and stewards the development and delivery of the digital citizenship curriculum;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Collaborates with lead coaches, principals, and departmental heads to assess and respond to the impact of technology on teaching and learning;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Supports and aligns professional learning programs for both professional and instructional staff with the instructional priorities outlined by the Office of Instruction; </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Collaborates with Technology Leadership to support new technology acquisitions to ensure instructional alignment;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Works with Technology and Division Leadership to ensure technology considerations and goals are part of the Division&rsquo;s Strategic Plan and support the implementation of those goals;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Assists and consults with others in the Department of Technology and the Office of Instruction on the collection and management of data, and submits reports;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Leads or supports committees and project teams responsible for instructional technology and professional development, including collaboration with Facilities Planning to ensure spaces are appropriately functional for contemporary learning;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Keeps informed of emerging technologies and developments in the fields of instructional technology and professional development;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Manages the hiring process for the Learning Technology Team;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Conducts annual performance reviews for all members of the Learning Technology Team;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Develops resources for family engagement and actively participates in community outreach and events; </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\">Manages a database of instructional technology coaching interactions;</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; ability to perform instructional technology systems analysis and needs assessments; ability to develop effective plans to meet instructional technology needs; technical expertise with computer systems; a capacity to lead and apply concepts around Educational Technology in an educational setting; proven experience in presenting and planning staff development for adult learners. Must be certified as a teacher in Virginia or eligible to be certified in Virginia. A master&rsquo;s degree is preferred.
