Our team values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement in service to our member communities.\r\n\r\nPosition Overview\r\nThe Network Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining network and security technologies that support MVECA and its client organizations. This role ensures reliable uptime, strong security, and high-quality service delivery across a wide variety of networks and environments.\r\nThe ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users, and a dedication to outstanding customer service.\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nProvide leadership and technical expertise in delivering network support services to client organizations\r\nConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot network switching, routing, LAN/WAN systems, and firewalls\r\nMaintain datacenter equipment, virtual environments, server operating systems\r\nImplement and maintain network security measures and industry best practices\r\nCoordinate installations, upgrades, and repairs with districts, vendors, and telecommunications providers\r\nMonitor bandwidth usage and network performance to identify and resolve issues\r\nPrepare documentation, project plans, reports, and inventories\r\nOrder, test, and validate equipment for deployment\r\nMaintain professional certifications (CCNA or CCNP)\r\nSupport broader MVECA technology initiatives and collaborate with team members effectively\r\n\r\nQualifications\r\nEducation & Certifications\r\nAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, network technology, or a related field\r\nCisco CCNA or CCNP certification (or the ability to obtain/maintain certification)\r\nRequired Skills\r\nExpertise in switching, routing, and network infrastructure\r\nExperience with WAN/LAN technologies and firewall systems\r\nAbility to support PC/Mac networking across various operating systems\r\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks\r\nClear oral and written communication skills\r\nAbility to explain complex concepts to non-technical users\r\nStrong teamwork and interpersonal communication\r\nOther Requirements\r\nValid driver’s license\r\nAbility to meet health and background check requirements\r\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\r\nFrequent travel to client sites\r\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistive equipment\r\nWork may include climbing ladders, crawling under desks, or working in confined spaces\r\nOccasional exposure to seasonal weather during travel\r\nAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment\r\n\r\nSalary commensurate with experience. 260-day employment contract.
