Primary Purpose:
\r\nPerform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district.
\r\nRespond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.
\r\n\r\n

Education/Certifications:
\r\nHigh School diploma
\r\nGED
\r\nComputing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+ Certification (preferred)
\r\n\r\n
Experience:
\r\nThree years’ or more of work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals Experience supervising others preferred
\r\n\r\n
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
\r\nKnowledge of computer workstation setup
\r\nKnowledge of computer hardware and software applications
\r\nAbility to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals, including printers, modems, scanners
\r\nAbility to install and maintain network cables and hardware
\r\nAbility to diagnose problems and perform repairs
\r\nKnowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix and other common operating systems helpful
\r\n\r\n

Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands:
\r\nTools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations. Personal computers and peripherals, including modems and printers.
\r\nPosture: Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling
\r\nMotion: Frequent use ofsmall hand tools and electronic test equipment
\r\nLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
\r\nEnvironment: Occasional prolonged or irregular hours; some districtwide travel, May be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.
\r\nMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; communicate effectively and professionally at all times

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
\r\n\r\n
Installation
\r\n1. Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.
\r\n2. Install network cabling and network peripherals throughout the district.
\r\n3. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
\r\n4. Install and configure software as needed.
\r\n5. Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications circuits and equipment.
\r\n\r\n
Equipment Repair and Maintenance
\r\n6. Diagnose and repair equipment, including printers, terminals, and personal computers.
\r\n7. Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule.
\r\n8. Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance.
\r\n9. Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
\r\n\r\n
Other
\r\n10. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
\r\n11. Comply with policies established by Federal and State Law, State Board of Education rule, and Local Board policy.
\r\n12. Perform other duties as assigned.
