To assist the instructor in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduation from high school or high school equivalency certificate.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be of good character</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completion of a Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program approved by the RI Department of Education (RIDE).&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meet one of the following three requirements:</span></li>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completed at least two years (48 credits) of study at an institution of higher education; or</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obtained an associate&rsquo;s degree or higher; or</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment: knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness</span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n</ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Four (4) years of successful experience in &ldquo;Graphic Communications&rdquo; which includes any of the following disciplines; desktop publishing, graphic designing, screen printing, sublimation printing, embroidery/sewing, vinyl and or photography/video preferred.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to establish professional rapport with students and teachers.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience acquired through either secondary or post-secondary training at an accredited institution, or apprentice training from work-related experience in the Graphic Communications industry.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Software and Computer skills; knowable on the Macintosh Apple computer system, Adobe Creative Suite CC 2020, Stitch Era, Sign Lab and Versa Works</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, previous experience, and the interview process.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br /><br /></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To assist the teacher/director in all areas of classroom and lab activities, including a variety of activities as prescribed by the teacher.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To render services as required.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To assist with the education process, present materials, teacher-directed activities, and operation of lab equipment.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To work with students in the Advertising Design & New Media program or on location under the teacher&rsquo;s instruction and supervision.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To collaboratively plan visits to industry for NACTC students to participate in career awareness activities.</span></li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performs all other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or Director of Newport Area Career & Technical Center.</span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PHYSICAL/ MENTAL REQUIREMENTS</span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walking, jumping, running, balancing, climbing, crawling, standing, turning, stooping, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, lifting, carrying, throwing, pushing, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, color vision, depth perception, pulling, and grasping.</span></p>\r\n<p><br /><br /></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WORKING CONDITIONS</span><strong>:</strong></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work primarily inside, sometimes outsides and on job sites, Adequate ventilation, Working around/with others, Adequate lighting</span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In accordance with the Local 841 contract-</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technical Assistant. 32.5 hours per week.&nbsp;
