Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law supplemented by course work in microcomputers and software applications and three years increasingly responsible microcomputer and software operations and installation experience.</p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong><u>BASIC FUNCTION:&nbsp; </u></strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p>Install microcomputer hardware and software; train users in functions and operations of microcomputers; provide continuing on-site and telephone support for users.</p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong><u>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:</u></strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Provide on-site and telephone support for users of microcomputer hardware and software.</li>\r\n<li>Install microcomputer hardware systems and software including upgrades and enhancements.</li>\r\n<li>Conduct training for use of microcomputer hardware and software with individuals, small groups and classrooms.</li>\r\n<li>Conduct problem-solving research.</li>\r\n<li>Coordinate and conduct user group meetings; record and distribute meeting minutes.</li>\r\n<li>Test new software programs and update existing programs prior to installation.</li>\r\n<li>Evaluate needs of user departments and recommend hardware and software solutions.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain password security for authorized access to computers and local area networks.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain data base files of users and hardware and software inventory.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain secure backup of master software files; maintain periodic backup of user software and data.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain standard District-wide master files.</li>\r\n<li>Install and maintain network infastructure</li>\r\n<li>Perform related duties as assigned.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:</u></strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; KNOWLEDGE OF:</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Operation of microcomputers and related peripheral computer equipment.</li>\r\n<li>Operation of numerous software applications related to District projects and activities.</li>\r\n<li>Installation of computer hardware, peripherals and software.</li>\r\n<li>Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.</li>\r\n<li>Manual instructions, sufficient to enable quick and accurate diagnosis of difficulties.</li>\r\n<li>Technical aspects of field of specialty.</li>\r\n<li>Public speaking techniques.</li>\r\n<li>Oral and written communication skills.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
