Functions</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures</li>\r\n<li>Lead, manage, and evaluate assigned programs</li>\r\n<li>Investigate, analyze, and formulate methods for handling special projects/reports</li>\r\n<li>Work with senior leadership on the development and quality of technology and learning services program elements and assist in developing briefings/status updates on the progress of staff programs and/or initiatives</li>\r\n<li>Support and train school-level technology facilitators to implement educational technology best practices and skills at their schools</li>\r\n<li>Develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with school leaders, other school-based and district staff and partners</li>\r\n<li>Collaborate with team members on developing and promoting district instructional design standards and in the procurement, inventory, and surplus of technology equipment, systems, and related services</li>\r\n<li>Support implementation of the district&rsquo;s digital transition toward mobile learning initiatives, special technology-enhanced programs, personalized learning methodology, and information technology (IT) curriculum integration in grades K-12</li>\r\n<li>Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and support execution at the campus and district level</li>\r\n<li>Implement and monitor technology initiatives utilizing a variety of devices, platforms, and mobile device management systems</li>\r\n<li>Coach and model effective use of technology tools and resources in collaboration with teachers and district leaders to continuously assess student learning and technology literacy</li>\r\n<li>Design, develop and implement technology-rich professional learning programs that model principles of adult learning and promote digital age best practices in teaching, learning and assessment for district-wide staff</li>\r\n<li>Search for new and innovative ways to use technology in student instruction and create training programs using e-Learning tactics and software</li>\r\n<li>Lead high-level sessions for program planning, schedule development and problem-solving projects</li>\r\n<li>Provides guidance assigned personnel and develops training as needed</li>\r\n<li>Effectively collaborate with cross-functional areas for resolution of tickets and issues</li>\r\n<li>Support the creation and sustainability of standard operational procedures, best practices and other relevant documentation based on best practices, real-time and historical data and reporting</li>\r\n<li>Perform related work as assigned or required</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system policies</li>\r\n<li>Comprehensive knowledge of educational standards, pedagogical theories, and best practices in teaching and learning</li>\r\n<li>Comprehensive knowledge on how to utilize appropriate data and information to make decisions</li>\r\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various learning styles, curriculum development and program evaluation, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to technology and learning</li>\r\n<li>Thorough knowledge of implementing technology systems, devices, training, and support in a K-12 environment</li>\r\n<li>Knowledge in digital tools to support learning pedagogy</li>\r\n<li>Knowledge of and proficiency with instructional technology tools, learning management systems, and multimedia resources</li>\r\n<li>Skilled in the use of current software to include word processing, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing applications</li>\r\n<li>Skilled in supporting large-scale IT initiatives within an educational environment including direct decision-making regarding computer hardware to support teaching and learning in an educational environment</li>\r\n<li>Skilled in developing materials, conducting training, workshops and presentations to educate and disseminate information to educators</li>\r\n<li>Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business and instructional needs</li>\r\n<li>Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations</li>\r\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively</li>\r\n<li>Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships</li>\r\n<li>Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums</li>\r\n<li>Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment</li>\r\n<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business</li>\r\n<li>Ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise sound judgement</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in education or related field required</li>\r\n<li>Valid NC teaching license with 077 Instructional Technology Specialist area required</li>\r\n<li>Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL), preferred</li>\r\n<li>Certified Government Chief Information Officer, (CGCIO), preferred</li>\r\n<li>Minimum of five years of experience in teaching, curriculum development/instructional design, or educational leadership required</li>\r\n<li>Equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n<p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Possess and
