You will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet educational objectives and SLAs. </span></p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):</strong></span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the district&rsquo;s security team </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution <br /></span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><br /><strong>Requirements:</strong> <br />- Proven hands-on network engineering experience CCNP preferred <br />- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) <br />- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model <br />- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools <br /><br /><strong>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</strong> <br />- Install, support, maintain and monitor new switch gear, server hardware and software while ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of district resources </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Design, setup and configure complex switching environments </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Supervise the administration of systems and servers related to the network to ensure availability of services to authorized users </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices</span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Respond to Help Desk support tickets and resolve those in a timely manner Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Director of Technology </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Effectively administer fiscal resources and maintain appropriate and accurate records of all financial activities </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Utilize the instruction staff and support services (intra-district and inter-district) to maintain and improve the instructional program </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Exhibit and encourage high professional and ethical standards Maintain confidentiality </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Punctual and dependable attendance Must be able to work in a collaborative environment to achieve team and district goals</span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available <br />- Accepts other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology <br /><br /><strong>Equipment Used:</strong> <br />Personal computer, printer, multi-function copier, smart phone <br /><br /><strong>Working Conditions:</strong> </span></div>\r\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">- Work with frequent interruptions <br />- Maintain emotional control under stress <br />- Frequent district wide travel <br />- Prolonged use of the computer, bending, sitting, standing, stooping,&nbsp;
