\r\nDesign, implement, secure, and maintain the district’s network, server, cloud, and backup infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN), wireless local area networks (WLAN), wide area networks (WAN), virtualization platforms, and associated systems.
\r\n• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
\r\n• Relevant industry certifications preferred, such as CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft, Google, CompTIA Network+ or Security+
\r\n• Strong experience administering WAN, LAN, WLAN, VoIP, firewalls, web filtering, VPN, and network security systems (Cisco preferred)
\r\n• Strong experience with virtual server infrastructure (HyperV preferred), storage area networks (SAN), enterprise backup, and data center cooling & power systems
\r\n• Ability to work with multiple operating systems and network protocols
\r\n• Expertise using test equipment for network traffic analysis
\r\n• 5 years of relevant and progressively responsible network and infrastructure experience preferred
\r\n1. Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, Wi-Fi, voice, DNS, DHCP, and associated services.
\r\n2. Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s core computing infrastructure, including virtualization platforms, servers, cloud environments, storage, and backups.
\r\n3. Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID, Group Policy, and identity/access management systems (Cisco ISE).
\r\n4. Facilitate critical security patching processes for servers, network infrastructure, and security systems.
\r\n5. Administer district-hosted telephony and converged VoIP communication systems (Cisco), security cameras, and access control systems.
\r\n6. Provide technical oversight of network closet power and environmental support systems, distributed communication systems, and various network-connected devices.
\r\n7. Review technical specifications and drawings and advise the construction department on technical aspects of facility construction and renovation projects.
\r\n8. Develop and implement standards and comprehensive lifecycle replacement programs for network and data center compute systems.
\r\n9. Serve as liaison to software and hardware vendors to maintain system operation and appropriate product support.
\r\n1. Develop and implement backup procedures to ensure network and workstation backups are performed on a regular basis and district data is restored as needed.
\r\n2. Manage, operate, and maintain various network security platforms such as EDR / NDR, IDS / IPS, and firewalls.
\r\n3. Assist with the development, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for the technology infrastructure.
\r\n1. Communicate directly with end-users and Technology Department staff members to detect and resolve network, device, and software problems.
\r\n2. Provide advanced technical support and escalation support for Department of Technology help desk staff.
\r\n1. Maintain confidentiality.
\r\n2. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
\r\n3. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
\r\nSupervise network and system specialist(s) and assist with operational coordination of other technology department staff.
\r\nTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; server systems, networking equipment; hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations.
\r\nPosture: Prolonged sitting, regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
\r\nMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders
\r\nLifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over)
\r\nEnvironment: Work indoors; frequent on-call and after hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day
\r\nMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
