The Systems and Network Administrator will also work collaboratively to provide support to a variety of software and hardware within the SAU 70 towards the goal of improving the education and operational functions of the district.</p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Reports to:\u00A0\u00A0</strong></p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p> \u00A0 \u00A0 Director of Educational Technology</p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\u00A0\r\n\u00A0\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Supervises:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p> \u00A0 \u00A0 N/A<br><br></p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\u00A0\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Systems Administration: </strong>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Provide support for the effective functioning of a wide range of systems, including Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, SecureW2, VOIP phone systems, PaperCut, etc.</li>\r\n<li>Help administer accounts while managing permissions, Single Sign On, and Multi-Factor Authentication.</li>\r\n<li>Utilize Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Google Admin Console, Mosyle, Microsoft Intune) to automate OS deployments, enforce compliance policies, and manage student and staff devices.</li>\r\n<li>Serve as a high-level escalation point for complex system disruptions, server downtime, software errors, and hardware issues, conducting root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.</li>\r\n<li>Respond to cybersecurity incidents in accordance with the SAU 70 Incident Response Plan.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Network Administration: </strong>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Work with outside vendors to deploy, configure, and maintain core networking hardware, including enterprise firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and servers.</li>\r\n<li>Ensure the network is consistent and reliable by overseeing networking equipment and making sure each component is operating properly and is up to date with firmware and software patches.</li>\r\n<li>Manage high-density Wi-Fi access points to ensure reliable, high-speed wireless coverage for student 1:1 devices, staff equipment, and guest networks.</li>\r\n<li>Help design, configure, and maintain VLANs to isolate traffic and protect sensitive data.</li>\r\n<li>Configure and maintain secure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and remote access policies to enable safe off-site network access for staff and technical vendors.</li>\r\n<li>Design and back up network configurations, implement failover connections, and assist in maintaining business continuity plans for emergency network recovery.</li>\r\n<li>Liaise with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), cabling contractors, and hardware vendors to manage internet circuits, resolve service outages, and oversee infrastructure upgrades.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, IP schemes, configuration logs, and hardware inventory to ensure operational transparency.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Operations Management:\u00A0</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Work with all members of the SAU Tech Team to:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Coordinate the work of Technical Services staff by facilitating and tracking project status; identifying problems and issues; ticket status; allocating appropriate resources; and ensuring that technical support services are completed on schedule and at the highest levels of quality</li>\r\n<li>Assist with system-wide technology purchasing; identify opportunities for improving efficiency, maximizing purchasing leverage, and reducing waste.\u00A0</li>\r\n<li>Oversee and coordinate efforts of outside vendors to ensure they fulfill their contract obligations and meet the needs of the District.</li>\r\n<li>Provide technical support for the SAU office and backup for school-based technology support teams.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>\u00A0</p>\r\n\r\n<p>This general outline illustrates the type of work, which characterizes the Job Classification.
