Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.</li>\r\n<li>Experience supporting Chromebooks, Windows laptops/desktops, printers, and classroom instructional technology.</li>\r\n<li>Basic knowledge of network infrastructure, TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and hardware/software troubleshooting.</li>\r\n<li>Experience with Google Workspace for Education, Active Directory, Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems, and helpdesk ticketing systems preferred.</li>\r\n<li>Audio/visual experience with projectors, interactive displays, speakers, document cameras, and classroom presentation systems is desirable.</li>\r\n<li>Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, administrators, and families.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions in a professional and user-friendly manner.</li>\r\n<li>Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to move computers, peripherals, network hardware, and other technology equipment throughout District buildings.</li>\r\n<li>Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity practices, and educational technology trends.</li>\r\n<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation required.</li>\r\n<li>Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds without assistance.</li>\r\n<li>Candidates holding Massachusetts Teacher Licensure in Digital Literacy/Computer Science (DLCS) or Instructional Technology (IT) may be given special consideration.</li>\r\n<li>Candidates with an Electrician D License or higher may be given special consideration.</li>\r\n</ol>\r\n<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: This position provides Tier 1 technical support for hardware, software, networking, and classroom technology issues throughout Braintree Public Schools. The IT Technician I serves as a frontline support resource for staff and students by responding to helpdesk requests, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting classroom instruction, and assisting with district-wide technology deployments and initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, professionalism, and customer service while supporting an environment focused on high-quality teaching and learning. This position is based within the Technology Department and may provide support across all district buildings as assigned.</p>\r\n<p>Responsibilities include:</p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Respond to and resolve Tier 1 helpdesk tickets submitted by District staff and students in a timely and professional manner.</li>\r\n<li>Provide&nbsp;support&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;Technology&nbsp;Help&nbsp;Desk&nbsp;at&nbsp;South&nbsp;Middle&nbsp;School&nbsp;and&nbsp;other&nbsp;locations&nbsp;as assigned.</li>\r\n<li>Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, printing, login, and connectivity issues for staff and student devices.</li>\r\n<li>Support Chromebooks, Windows desktops/laptops, Google Workspace applications, printers, copiers, and classroom instructional technology.</li>\r\n<li>Provide technical support for projectors, interactive displays, speakers, document cameras, and other classroom A/V equipment.</li>\r\n<li>Perform basic troubleshooting of networking issues including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless connectivity.</li>\r\n<li>Provide on-site, remote, phone, and email support throughout the District depending on operational needs and issue severity.</li>\r\n<li>Assist with device setup, imaging, deployment, inventory tracking, maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle replacement projects.</li>\r\n<li>Assist with account management and maintenance within Active Directory, Google Admin Console, and other district technology systems.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain accurate documentation and updates within the District&rsquo;s helpdesk ticketing system to ensure responsive communication and task completion.</li>\r\n<li>Assist with technology inventory management and asset tracking.</li>\r\n<li>Work collaboratively with Technology Department staff on district technology initiatives, cybersecurity practices, and operational projects.</li>\r\n<li>Support district technology standards, procedures, cybersecurity expectations, and acceptable use policies.</li>\r\n<li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and professional appearance.</li>\r\n<li>Participate in occasional evening or summer technology support activities as needed.</li>\r\n<li>Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology.</li>\r\n</ol>\r\n<p>TERMS&nbsp;OF&nbsp;EMPLOYMENT: LongTerm&nbsp;Substitute&nbsp;Position Eight&nbsp;(8)&nbsp;weeks&nbsp;of&nbsp;coverage,&nbsp;anticipated&nbsp;to&nbsp;begin&nbsp;the&nbsp;first&nbsp;week&nbsp;of&nbsp;December&nbsp;2026.
